Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Glow is a smart photo-retouching app that runs locally on your device (Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android). Your photos are processed directly on the device and are not uploaded to our servers. This Policy explains what data we collect, for what purposes, and how we protect it.

This Policy applies to the Glow app (including the Android version — package com.starsystems.glow) and to the glowme.studio website. It is an integral part of the Terms of Use (EULA). By using Glow, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

1. Who we are

The controller of personal data processing is STAR Systems Company (legal entity — Solution Technologies And Ready Systems), the developer of the Glow app (hereinafter "Glow", "we", "us"). The app's official website: glowme.studio.

For any questions regarding privacy or the exercise of your rights, you can contact us at support@glowme.studio.

2. Core principle: processing on your device

Retouching and image processing in Glow are performed entirely locally, using your device's resources, and work even without an Internet connection. This applies to all platforms, including the Android app.

  • Your photos are not uploaded, transmitted, or stored on our servers.
  • We do not access the content of your images and do not view them.
  • We do not use your photos to train artificial intelligence models.
  • Processing results remain on your device and are exported to wherever you choose.

3. What data we process

To provide the license, trial period, and support, we process a limited set of data unrelated to the content of your photos:

  • Device identifier (device_uid) — a derived identifier of the app installation. It is needed to tie the trial period and license to the device and to prevent the free period from being obtained again by reinstalling the app. By itself, it does not identify you personally.
  • Device technical specifications — the operating system and its version, architecture, processor model, number of cores, amount of RAM, graphics adapter, and app version. Used for compatibility, statistics, and troubleshooting.
  • Account data (if you sign in or subscribe) — the email address of your glowme account, as well as the type, status, and validity period of your subscription and the number of linked devices. Sign-in happens via device confirmation: the app opens a glowme.studio verification page in your browser, where you authenticate.
  • Advertising identifier (Android only, free version) — the device's Advertising ID, used to display ads via Google AdMob. See section 4 for details.
  • Payment data — we do NOT store your bank card details. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers (and, for purchases inside the Android app, by Google Play); we receive only the status and identifier of the transaction.
  • Technical diagnostics — basic error and crash logs of the app to ensure stable operation (without the content of your photos).

All data transfers between the app and our servers occur over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS).

4. Advertising and the advertising identifier (Android)

In the free version of the Android app, we display ads using Google AdMob.

  • AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID). It is processed by Google as a separate data controller — in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • You can reset the advertising identifier or limit personalized ads in your Android settings ("Privacy" → "Ads").
  • Subscribers are not shown ads: once a subscription is taken out, advertising is turned off.
  • Your photos are never used to select or display ads.

5. Purposes and legal bases for processing

  • Performance of a contract — providing access to the app, the trial period, and the subscription, linking devices, and authentication.
  • Legitimate interest — preventing abuse of the trial period, usage statistics, displaying ads in the free version, and improving the compatibility and quality of the app.
  • Consent — sending informational or marketing messages if you have separately agreed to this (you can withdraw your consent at any time).
  • Compliance with the law — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable legislation.

6. Trial period and offline licensing

The free trial period is tied to the device identifier (device_uid) and is activated once per device, without entering payment details.

To work without an Internet connection, the app stores a signed license token (entitlement) on your device, which confirms your right of access during the paid or trial period.

7. Retention period

  • Account, subscription, and linked-device data — for the duration of the license and up to 12 months after it ends.
  • Technical diagnostics — until the relevant issue is resolved.
  • Data we are required to keep by law (for example, regarding payments) — for the period established by legislation.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see section 9.

8. Whom we share data with

For the proper operation of the service, we may engage third-party service providers who process data solely to the extent necessary and under confidentiality terms:

  • Payment providers and Google Play — for processing subscription payments.
  • Google (the AdMob service) — the device's advertising identifier is processed to display ads in the free Android version.
  • Infrastructure and analytics providers — for the operation and improvement of the service.

We do not sell your data to third parties. Disclosure is possible only upon a justified request from authorized bodies in accordance with the law.

9. Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and the data associated with it at any time.

To do so, write to support@glowme.studio with the subject "Delete Glow account" and provide the email address of your account. We will process the request within 30 days. Detailed step-by-step instructions and the list of data to be deleted are available at glow.glowme.studio/delete-account.

10. Children

The service is not intended for persons who have not reached the age of majority. We do not knowingly collect personal data of such persons. If we become aware of such a case, we will delete the relevant data.

11. How we protect data

We apply organizational and technical protection measures: an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) during data transfer, restricted access for authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis, and local storage of the license token on your device.

At the same time, no method of data transfer or storage is absolutely secure. In the event of an incident posing a high risk to your rights, we will notify you and, if necessary, the relevant authorities without undue delay.

12. Your rights

With respect to your personal data, you have the right to:

  • access the data and obtain a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • delete data when it is no longer needed for processing;
  • restrict processing in the cases provided for by law;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • port data in a structured format;
  • withdraw previously given consent;
  • lodge a complaint with the authorized personal data protection body.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at support@glowme.studio. We will respond no later than within one month from the date the request is received.

13. Changes to the Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current date is indicated at the top of the document ("Last updated"). We will notify you separately — by email and/or in the app — of significant changes that affect your rights.
